Live Charcoal Portraits
I used to watch videos of the Place Du Tertre in Paris, France. Hundreds of talented artists would gather in this square and create the most beautiful portraits. I was amazed at there skill and how effortlessly their pencils, pastels, and charcoal stumps would move across the paper to create these incredible works of art, sometimes in as little as 10 minutes.

I used to search the internet to see if anything like this was being done in the united states and while it wasn't non existent it was very rare to see someone offering live portraits in public.

It's a scary thing to produce a portrait live on the scene. A lot can go wrong and I'll be honest when I first started out there were some portraits I sent out that I later decided were not worth the price tag I charged for them.
But as time went on and I did more events, my confidence and my skills grew, and I'm so grateful I took that scary first step because now I get to enjoy that look of awe and amazement on my sitters face every time I turn the paper around and show them their completed portrait.
